Since they first met eachother in 1981 Michael Cretu and Manfred "Tissy" Thiers have a productive friendship as studio musicians. In the band "Moti Special" (together with Nils Tuxen and Dicky Tarrach) where they in 1985 hit the charts with the songs "Cold Days, Hot Night", "Don't Be So Shy" and "Stop! Girls Go Crazy".

Tissy Thiers co-founded in 1972 the very popular German rock band "Randy Pie" where he played bass guitar and was the songwriter. Among his writings is the bands hitsingle "Highway Driver".

 
In 1987 Michael Cretu & Tissy Thiers formed a duo with the Alice Cooper song "Schools Out". In 1988 they came with the CD "Belle Epoque". An album with the characteristic sound of Moti Special.
